Storm Without Warning

Last night about 6:30 a storm came through without any signs or warnings.
It was like someone had flipped a switch and there it was!
No thunder, no lightning, no winds - just instant downpour whipped by wind!

Vanity Plate

"I think. Therefore I'm not sure."

That reflection of NM Bill in the grill makes me wonder,
is he "happy to see us"?
Or is that just a strong wind...?

The Blob

Don't ask, don't tell.
An excellent example of a Rube Goldberg fix.

Famous Tomato Face

Is this famous tomato Robert Goulet or William Conrad?

I'm going with Conrad when he played "Cannon".

No Smoking! Plenty Of Drinking, Though!

This wonderfully composed photo of the Woodford Reserve Distillery's veranda was taken by NM Bill.

On a road trip from New Mexico to Ohio to celebrate his mother's birthday, Bill and his wife stopped
at this historic landmark distillery for a taste of their straight bourbon whisky.

Being a bourbon drinker myself, Bill convinced me that Woodford's is the best.
I had to find out so I purchased a bottle.

I have to say this is where the word "smooth" comes from!
(The tomato is the "first pick" from my victory garden)

Vanity Plate Times 2

I don't know about you but,
I would have put an "A" after the C and left out the E.
That way you get "Carp" instead of "Crap".

Oh, well. Just sayin'...

Hey, Look!
Here's another "Super Duty" plate in Texas from Mike L.

Chill, Baby...

Lorena Bobbitt's Nursery?

Captured at 115th and Allisonville Rd. In
Fishers, Indianapolis, Indiana.   The sign
is real and was up for two hours before
someone stopped and told them how to
spell PEONIES!

Compliments Mike L.

Toto The Singing Toilet

Opera at the Hollywood Bowl?
Or, have a seat and you can send the "browns" to the super bowl.

No Time For Birdies

I call him Rusty because of his color.
He's a feral cat that inhabits a large area of the neighborhood and shows up in my yard often.
Sometimes to relax on the back lawn or to see if there's any live goodies in the brush.
With temperatures in the 90's this week, Rusty walked in on at least 50 sparrows and finches at the feeder above
only to get a cool drink of water in my makeshift bird bath.
He showed no interest in the birds and when I tapped on the window he saw me and made tracks to the neighbor's yard.
He's not real interested in humans either.

Vanity Plate

It's open season on guessing what this one means.
Does the owner have a minimum brain?
OR, or they celebrating a new addition into the family?
Bring in those guesses!

The Green Hornet?

I doubt it, but...

...I'd be afraid to get anywhere near him.
I might start glowing when I got home.

Skyview

Tuesday afternoon black clouds rolled in like a science fiction movie.
They swirled slowly overhead and then stopped moving all together.
This airplane landed at Hopkins just ahead of the darkness.
About an hour later, there was heavy lightning and thunder along with torrential rainfall.
Yesterday also saw a repeat of severe storms!
I loved it. We needed the rain.

Sad Potato Face

There's mixed emotions here. He's sad he has to be eaten, but he knows he'll make great french fries!
(He was "deelish")

Apparently, water rolls off it like on a duck's back!
Either that or it floats?

Industrial Strength

On a trip to Gallucci's for lunch there was a crew demolishing an old building across the street.
We were fascinated by the water cannon that sprayed a mist across the building up to seven stories.
The purpose of the water is to minimize clouds of dust as the pieces of the building came crashing down.

Unfortunately, the dust was thicker than the giant mist at times!
