Sky Friday

A dramatic sunset on Lake Erie from Lakewood Park.
A beautiful summer night with pleasant temperatures and not a bit of wind.
The lake was calm and almost looked like glass.

Storm Without Warning

Last night about 6:30 a storm came through without any signs or warnings.
It was like someone had flipped a switch and there it was!
No thunder, no lightning, no winds - just instant downpour whipped by wind!

Skyview

Tuesday afternoon black clouds rolled in like a science fiction movie.
They swirled slowly overhead and then stopped moving all together.
This airplane landed at Hopkins just ahead of the darkness.
About an hour later, there was heavy lightning and thunder along with torrential rainfall.
Yesterday also saw a repeat of severe storms!
I loved it. We needed the rain.

Industrial Strength

On a trip to Gallucci's for lunch there was a crew demolishing an old building across the street.
We were fascinated by the water cannon that sprayed a mist across the building up to seven stories.
The purpose of the water is to minimize clouds of dust as the pieces of the building came crashing down.

Unfortunately, the dust was thicker than the giant mist at times!

Berea Falls

This urban waterfall is located in Berea, Ohio in the Rocky River Reservation. The fall consists of two main drops and a couple smaller drops totaling 25 feet. There is a lookout above the falls.

Surprisingly, there are a number of nearby urban waterfalls in the Greater Cleveland area that are easy to get to and are much more scenic.
