And now for something beautiful.
My sister-in-law, Monica took this exquisite shot while treating my brother to his 66th birthday this October.

Deadly Last Photo
While driving on an open country road on his way back to New Mexico, Anonymous had the wherewithal to snap this, his last photograph before his untimely demise. State troopers found his cell phone camera in the carnage and released this photo: (Click to enlarge)
How ironic that NM Bill and the 911 Tourist Guy were able to capture their last moments just seconds before their fate.

Ugly As A Possum
A True Expression
"Twenty bucks if you let me go Mike."
No animal was harmed in this photo. Mike paid the possum twenty bucks and released it down by the river.
However, Mike's own photo is now in the Post Office's most wanted list.

Scared Of Crows?
When I saw this, I pulled over so fast the oncoming traffic hit the brakes to see if I was in an accident!
HOLY CRAP!
I thought, what the heck is in that yard that they are feeding on?
When I got close, they didn't fly off. Clumsy me. They weren't real.
This is one of the most tasteful Halloween displays I've ever seen.

Seeing Things!
What have you done lately that was totally embarrassing?
I looked out my window yesterday afternoon and saw this on the sidewalk.
I called the police after going out to examine it and told them that somebody just spray painted my sidewalk!
But, by the time the police arrived, I noticed the "paint" had moved from the concrete block on the right to the one it's on in this photo!
The damn thing was what I originally suspected before I went out to look at it - a shadow!
DUH!
My only salvation was when the officer said with a smile, "Believe it or not, you're not the first person this has happened to."
Got two tens for a five Gianni?

House Finch
Another tell-tale sign that the seasons are changing.
The House Finch is a winter visitor in these parts. Although just a bit early,
he's a sign of the times.
The House Finch mostly relies on bird feeders in the winter, so keep yours topped up.
At first, I mistakenly thought this was a Purple Finch. But, with the help of my Ornithology expert
at the Lake Erie Nature & Science Center, she concluded it was a House Finch due to
the streaking across the breast and belly.

Roger Tory Peterson famously described the Purple Finch as "a sparrow dipped in raspberry juice".
