Philosophical Feline

There must be an aura of zen in my yard.
Here Blackie sits atop the edge of the greenhouse and contemplates the universe.
(Either that or he's wondering how he can catch one of those birds in the feeder)
Either way, there seems to be a distinctive atmosphere that surrounds
the animals that enter my yard.

Remember Chippy?

Priceless

I was loading the car getting ready to go shopping when I spotted Rusty at the other end of the driveway.
He waited patiently for me to back out so he could roam around behind the house.

Cat Nap

"Will you just go away?"
This is Fuji, my parents cat, taking - or trying to take a snooze.
I think this photo was taken circa 1979-80.
Fuji was a stereo-typical cat; arrogant, kept to herself and manipulating her owners.
Rarely, if she wanted to play at all, she would come in the room and flop down just out of reach so you would have to go to her.

Happy Cat

Or, Fearless Feline!

Ah, what could be better than to relax and cool off in the shade on a hot August day.
"Rusty" is a frequent visitor to my yard and the house next door.
He's pretty easy going but shies away from humans.

No Time For Birdies

I call him Rusty because of his color.
He's a feral cat that inhabits a large area of the neighborhood and shows up in my yard often.
Sometimes to relax on the back lawn or to see if there's any live goodies in the brush.
With temperatures in the 90's this week, Rusty walked in on at least 50 sparrows and finches at the feeder above
only to get a cool drink of water in my makeshift bird bath.
He showed no interest in the birds and when I tapped on the window he saw me and made tracks to the neighbor's yard.
He's not real interested in humans either.

Cat Nap

Well, after having a drink on a hot afternoon, Rusty (as I've named him)
takes a little cat nap in the lower backyard.
He likes coming here but is pretty shy about humans and could care less about all of the birds at the feeder.

Beating The Heat

One of a couple of cats that pass through the yard now and then stops to take a drink out of my "homemade" bird bath.
Temperature here broke a record Monday with a high of 92 degrees!

I'm not sure if he's thanking me for the water or wondering where the Friskies are to go with his drink.
See ya next time...

Here's Looking At You Kid!

That's Grayson from last summer.
With Spring around the corner, hopefully he'll drop by again to play.

Not The Cat In The Hat!

It's the Cat In The Bowl.

Mike's cat Bandit is gently melting the Almond Joy and Mounds bars during a cat nap after Halloween.

Laser Eyes!

Mike's cats made it back from outer space. However, they went through a strange meteor shower who's dust contained an unknown element that caused their eyes to be able to send out a beam that can cut through metals and see through solid objects!

Goodbye Gianni

Grayson says "goodbye" before trotting down the steps into my back yard.
Maybe I'll see him again in another month?
He's definitely an outdoor cat and a hunter.
Can't wait to see him again.Click the image for a closeup.

This is Grayson taking it easy on the back patio.
Temperatures continue to hover in the high 80's to mid 90's.

Got Milk?

This cute little guy dropped by the house a couple days ago for some playtime and a bit of milk. (You can see a little on his chin)
We played around on the front steps and then took a complete tour inside the house.

I think he was a little overwhelmed and took a short rest on the dining room carpet.
After a while he asked to be let out and he returned to his vagabond ways...
Maybe he'll drop by again some day. I'll look forward to seeing him.
If you happen to see him, I call him "Grayson" after the color of his coat.
